Restoration of the friction discs of the torque converter
The KINERGO company is engaged in the restoration of ZF friction discs of the 6HPхх series. The cost of remanufactured clutches can be down to 30% of the price of similar ones from suppliers of torque converter parts. Now KINERGO offers this technology to all workshops for the restoration of the torque converter (TC).
Previously, solid linings without cooling channels were used to restore friction discs. This often led to overheating of the friction material and loss of its frictional properties.
Specially developed by KINERGO friction linings made of High Carbon material with the use of precision hardened adapters, gives a result comparable to a factory friction disc. The parallelism of the planes after polymerization of the glue (reducing agent) is 0.02 mm, which is critical for ZF 6HPxx models. Friction linings can be purchased from our online store. The pads are connected with a lock, which is cut off after gluing to the disk, leaving cooling channels (see photo.)
Partial automation and acceleration of the restoration and repair process is possible with the use of an automated sandblasting unit. The friction disc is placed on a rotating plane and after one revolution of the disc, the old friction layer is completely removed.
