Friction Lining Bonding Primer PRIMEX

PRIMEX | Friction Lining Bonding Primer

PrimeX friction lining bonding primer is specially designed for pre-treatment of the surface before bonding the friction lining to achieve the best result.

  • Using PrimeX reduces the impact of surface treatment errors, improves adhesion, increases the reliability and strength of bonding.
  • Easy to apply, dries quickly, facilitates fixation of the bonded lining on the mating surface.
  • Compatible with glue pre-applied to friction linings manufactured by KINERGO.

Reconstituted Volume: 240 ml

PrimeX primer instructions for use

1. Dilution The primer is supplied in powder form, packaged in a metal container of 240 ml x 57 g. This is designed to preserve its properties in the best possible condition until the expiration date. To use the primer, it must be diluted. The recommended diluent is a 1:1 mixture of isopropyl alcohol (≥ 99.7% concentration) and acetone (≥ 99.0%). To achieve the optimal concentration of the working primer mixture, simply add pre-mixed diluent up to the neck of the container (approximately 175 ml). During subsequent thickening, it is permissible to add a diluent to achieve a working consistence. It is recommended to dilute the mixture with a 12-hour soak. This means adding the diluent, stirring, letting it sit for 12 hours, and then stirring again. This method eliminates the need for prolonged stirring and ensures complete dissolution without lumps. If the mixture is needed immediately, it must be stirred continuously (up to 30 minutes) until the lumps are completely dissolved. Store the diluted primer at temperatures from 0°C to +20°C. Clean tools, containers, and objects from accidental primer contact with the diluent specified above. After vulcanization, use only mechanical means.

2. Application The primer is most easily applied with the supplied brush attached to the container cap. The recommended dry layer thickness is 15-28 µm. The estimated specific consumption is 0.009851 g/cm². For reference: a 240 ml metal container, after dilution, contains approximately 195 g of ready-to-use primer. This amount is sufficient for bonding an average of 180 friction linings, using the example of an L251222 friction lining.

3. Bonding Apply primer to the prepared surface, let it sit for 3-5 minutes until a film forms, then install and position the friction lining. Perform bonding (in accordance with the recommendations for KINERGO friction linings).
